Fibrosis

Fibrosis is the process in which repair of a tissue leads to thickening and scarring of that tissue. If this injury is linked to a specific organ or organ system, it can lead to further complications. An example of this would be pulmonary fibrosis, which is the scarring and injury of the lung tissues.
