This Study Summary was published on June 2, 2025.
The study
Most of the participants had a health condition, such as type 2 diabetes or dyslipidemia. The dose of canola oil was 12 to 53 grams per day, and the intervention duration ranged from 3 to 28 weeks. Canola oil was generally compared to another plant oil (e.g., sunflower oil or olive oil).
Canola oil decreased BMI (−0.13) but did not affect body weight, fat mass, or waist circumference.
