Apolipoprotein B is the primary apolipoprotein (the protein part of a lipoprotein) for low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the lipoprotein found in LDL cholesterol. Higher circulating levels of apolipoprotein B is likely the key factor that allows for fatty plaque to build-up in arteries.
