Myoglobin

Myoglobin is like the "muscle version" of hemoglobin: it is an iron- and oxygen-binding protein found in muscles, whose function is to store oxygen (in contrast to hemoglobin, whose function is to transport it). Myoglobin's oxygen affinity is higher than hemoglobin's.
