Gossypium herbaceum is a species of cotton native to sub-Saharan Africa and Arabia, where it grows as a shrub or shrub-like plant. While the cotton lint it produces is used for textiles, it is also a medicinal plant traditionally used to treat a variety of conditions, such as hemorrhages, gastrointestinal issues, headaches, menstrual irregularities, and insufficient lactation.
